Why should you try to sell your home before foreclosure?
Having a foreclosure on your credit record is more detrimental than having a Short Sale. A Short Sale is done when people own more than what the home is worth. We negotiate with the bank to accept less, list the home with the approval of the lender, and delay the foreclosure date to have the time to sell. We also negotiate with the bank to waive the “Deficiency of Judgement”. A successful short sale will shorten the time it takes to fix your credit. You can buy a house in as little as three years, instead of 7-10 years with a foreclosure.
